Merry Christmas

This week leading up to Christmas has certainly been a busy one, but I have to say that I am so excited to have a regular post fall on Christmas Eve! I have got to start taking notes throughout the week so I can have somewhat more organized weekly posts. (New Years resolution, hm?)

So, happenings:
I saw a pin on pinterest. This one actually: Sweater Restyle And made my own version. I'm not so sure I love it yet. I think maybe by spring I may learn to.

I finished another Christmas present. It has to be mailed out still...so no pictures yet. (Well, it is on Instagram ;) )

Finally, some baking. I braved the supermarket today and got some red and green chocolate chips to put on brownies and I bought a sugar cookie mix. Yeah, totally copping out this year. In the cookie department. I have got to come up with a better plan for picture taking and sweet baking next year.

I did manage to get some pictures of making ever so festive kale chips! I had to put my ipad on a stool which is why I appear to be a giant! These were deliciously simple. Literally. They also gave me a chance to wear my Olivia Walton apron. The most time consuming part was cutting the spine out of each kale leaf. After that I just tore them into 1 to 2 inch pieces mixed it with copious amounts of olive oil, speared a layer on a parchment paper covered cookie sheet, sprinkled with salt ,and baked at 300 degrees for 16-20 minutes. very easy appetizer for Christmas! And as Lucy Ricardo says "It's so tasty too!"

Merry Christmas to you all, and I wish you a very happy and healthy new year!

Matthew 1:23 “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel” (which means, God with us).

Still Counting Down

Well, I know, no pictures lately. I'm waiting for the 29 days to be up. Then I shall have some nice pictures of everything I've finished...not 29 pictures, but grouping the similar things, you know?

However, here is my list of thing I've been working on. Updated just 2 minutes ago!

29 Days

29-Doily
28-Lemonade Pie
27-Grocery Shopping, Lobsters
26-Creme egg brownies
25-Blue glitter sweater
24thru19-Doilies
18-Jillnaimo bars
17-Joann fabrics for pillow stuff
16-doily
15-Pillowcase
14-car paintings
13-car painting
12-doily
11-car painting

Let me explain a couple of things.

First of all, I'm trying to crochet 37 doilies. It's an Anne of Green Gables thing.

Secondly, a couple of these days are places I went and things that I made. I was actually out of the house for a good chunk of those days. Contrary to popular belief, I do have a life.

Thirdly! I made Nanaimo Bars and had to keep substituting ingredients. They actually turned out okay, but because I had like 2 actual ingredients I dubbed my version Jillnaimo Bars.

Fourthly...is that even what you say? I am not painting a car. I am making paintings of old cars from vintage ads in an old LIFE magazine that I have.

Lastly, I know I set this up the same as last week's post. I am a list maker. That's whey this whole post is a list and there is a big fat list within the post!

I have so say, it is incredible that there are only 11ish days to go of my countdown! I am ready to see my pal again! :D

PS Thank you to whoever(If you're reading this) favorites the Julie Andrews picture on etsy. It is such thrill to know someone really likes something I worked so hard on! I really appreciate it.

Challenge!

Skip to 1:30 in the video...that's where I got the title from... Sandman Simms and Bill Cosby

Well, with the set up I use for my blog now, I know that the solution to my problem is to use web coding for my posts, otherwise I have to post on a laptop. Okay, haha *deep breath* I thin I can relearn at least the basics of it, although, I did get a C- in that class if I remember correctly. We'll see how it goes. I know tutorial sites, etc I can use, it's probably a good brain exercise too....I'm trying to convince myself. Anyway, please forgive the numerous mistakes that will be in my posts for a while.

As of Wednesday I've embarked an 29 day challenge. A friend was supposed to visit on Thursday but plans fell through and the trip was postponed for 29 days. So, for the next month I'm working on something every single day, not necessarily completing it the day I have set aside for beginning the project, but I do continue each one until it is finished. For instance, day 29 I started crocheting a doily, day 28 I made a pie, and although the doily wasn't finished I continued working on it because the pie didn't take up the whole day to make. I had this weekend off so there was more time to work on things. It will definitely get harder to keep up as when I get back to work, but so far, so good. I finished the "Day 29 Doily," as it's been dubbed on day 26
